Holy Family Parish is located in evacuation level A.  If our area
comes under a mandatory evacuation because of an
approaching hurricane, the church and school will be closed.  If
an order for mandatory evacuation is given, Masses will be
canceled, even on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.  The
parish and school will remain closed until the proper authorities
advise us it is safe to return to the campus.

In a
voluntary evacuation of level A, we will continue with
regularly scheduled liturgies.

Because the parish is situated in a low-lying area, (the east side
of the campus borders Tampa Bay,) our facilities cannot be
used for storm shelters.

DO NOT PLAN TO EVACUATE TO THE CHURCH OR OTHER
PARISH FACILITIES.

Furthermore, most parishioners will not be able to assist others
in evacuating from the area since they themselves will have to
evacuate when the order comes.

Instead, every parishioner of the area should draw up a plan to
evacuate to higher and safer ground
before a major storm hits.
More than likely, those plans will mean leaving the area in the
event that a major storm makes landfall.

If you will require assistance in leaving the area in the event of a
mandatory evacuation, you must first register with Pinellas
County.  Visit their
website  or call 727.464.3800.  Do this now.
You cannot call this number or register just a day or two before
a storm hits.
